What is your name and where are you from?

My name is Mirai from Tokyo, Japan.

What are you doing now?

I am studying Fashion Management with Marketing at Solent University. We are currently doing a big sell off as a part of retail management course.

Have you always wanted to study Fashion?

I was studying finance for 2 years after graduating high school. While studying finance I had an opportunity to live in Paris for 9 months That experience made me change my major. Being exposed to all the fashion houses and small stores full of masterpieces, I was intrigued to study Fashion.

How would you describe yourself?

I would say I am ambitious and driven. I like to get out of my comfort zone and challenge myself to be a better and stronger version of myself.

Tell me a little bit about the place you grew up in.

I grew up in one of the biggest cities in the world, where so much is going on all the time.

What was your journey before you came here?

I was previously studying at an Australian University in Vietnam for two years.

What is the most memorable event in your life?

The first time I studied abroad in Canada. That experience has had a huge influence on my life decisions.

Are there any moment in your life where you wished you could rewind time?

Not that I can think of! I try not to make choices I regret later.

Who do you look up to?

Anita Roddick. She is the one of the first successful female CEO who spread ethical consumerism. She has influenced me to do action and start something even if it is small and not noticeable at first. She grew the body shop into an international brand from a small store. She has also taught me to have a strong will and believe in myself that I can achieve anything.

What are your aspirations?

To have the happiest life!
